Tech Workers Resignations Spiraling Out of Control

A survey of 1,200 technology and IT workers in the U.S. conducted by training platform TalentLMS and recruitment software provider Workable found that nearly three-quarters of IT workers said they planned to quit by next year.

Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics show that the resignation rate in the U.S. reached a record 4.3 million in August 2021, while data from Bankrate for the same month showed that about half of U.S. workers intend to quit their jobs in the next 12 months.

Employees wishing to quit often cited reasons for this, such as burnout, stress, undervaluation and unrecognition are frequently cited reasons for employees wishing to leave their jobs.

The researchers warned that the burnout problem has become so serious among data experts that keeping them in the workforce must be considered “the top priority of any organization.”
