CEOs and senior executives have weighted the critical factors for success in the future. Strategic Information Technology and the CEO Agenda, an A.T. Kearny survey of 213 CEOs and senior executives, produced the following ‘success factor’ numbers:

Market growth – 12 percent

Global reach/position – 15 percent

Good operational structure – 16 percent

Reaction to change/flexibility – 17 percent

Competitive marketing – 20 percent

Cost efficiency – 22 percent

Innovation/R&D – 23 percent

Customer orientation – 24 percent

Quality staff – 24 percent

Product quality – 28 percent

Using new technology – 33 percent
