ProCurve strips down to simpler stackables

Hewlett-Packard Canada Co. is taking aim at small and medium businesses by launching a series of ProCurve stackable switches the company describes as affordable and easy to use.

HP’s goal with the new switches isn’t to be the cheapest option in the market, said Darren Hamilton, category business manager for ProCurve with HP Canada. But the firm does want to serve up reasonably priced networking gear that still offers users good quality and a solid warranty, he added.

“Customers who might find these compelling are those in the small to medium-size business space who are looking for plug-and-play with either specific or some baseline management capability and we deliver that in these products,” he said.
