OpenLink Software Inc. on Tuesday launched the latest version of Virtuoso, its Virtual Database solution for SQL, XML, and Web services.

The Burlington, Mass.-based company said that Virtuoso 3.0 is a cross-platform integration solution which permits real-time access to heterogeneous data sources – including standard data access interfaces such as ODBC, JDBC, OLE DB, .Net Data Providers, XML, XPath, and XQuery.

Virtuoso 3.0 will also integrate with distributed computing environments including Microsoft .Net and J2EE, OpenLink said. Currently available in public beta form for the Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and UNIX platforms, OpenLink said the solutions will be commercially available early March.
