WebSphere is a major product suite for IBM, which the company says will be more open and flexible for developing in different environments than VisualAge for Java. At a recent conference in Honolulu, ComputerWorld Canada’s editor Gail Balfour caught up with Hershel Harris, IBM Canada’s director of the Toronto Software Lab and vice-president of WebSphere server development.
