IBM adds de-duping company to the fold

IBM announced today its acquisition of the Framingham, Mass.-based storage de-duplication company Diligent Technologies.

Diligent Technologies products and employees will become part of Big Blue’s System Storage business unit, which is part of the IBM Systems and Technology Group. According to IBM, the acquisition ties in with the company’s New Enterprise Data Centre model, which “helps clients improve IT efficiency and facilitates the rapid deployment of virtualization, green IT, service management, and cloud computing.”

The financial details of the deal were not released.
