Salesforce has announced hiring 3,300 people across various departments. The new hires will be split roughly equally among sales, engineering, and those working on the company’s data cloud product.
The hiring spree comes just months after Salesforce laid off 10 per cent of its workforce in a restructuring effort. However, CEO Marc Benioff says the company is now committed to growth and is betting that interest in artificial intelligence will fuel a new cycle of tech investment.
Salesforce’s endeavour is not only to expand its workforce but also to reduce costs, enhance profitability, and reinvigorate revenue growth. Investors have shown resounding support, propelling the company’s shares to a 65 per cent increase this year.
This recruitment drive will reinstate 40 per cent of the positions that were cut earlier this year, marking a pivotal moment in Salesforce’s journey. Nonetheless, executives have not ruled out further strategic adjustments. Currently, the company reports a workforce of 70,456 employees.
In addition to hiring new employees, Salesforce is also offering existing clients free capacity of its data cloud product. This move is designed to encourage customers to adopt the product and to help Salesforce build a larger user base.
