Microsoft Will Continue Yearly Update For Windows 10

In preparation for Windows 10 November 2021 update known as Windows 10 21H2, Microsoft announced that it will continue to release updates once a year for Windows 10.

The move by Microsoft was well appreciated by users who are not interested in running Windows 11 yet or whose hardware component is not compatible with the new operating system.

While the company won’t reveal the number of years it will provide updates for Windows 10, the company however assures that it will support “at least one version” of the operating system until update support ends in October 2025.

On the newly released Windows 10 21H2, Microsoft assured users 18 months of support for the operating system.

For businesses using Windows 10 Enterprise, version 21H2 is also a Long-Term Servicing Channel (LTSC) update and will receive update support for five years instead of 18 months.

Just like Windows 10, Windows 11 will also receive important feature updates once a year as Microsoft moves to sync its update schedule together.
