Microsoft commercializes robot software

Microsoft released the commercial version of its software for robots. Its Robotics Studio includes programming tools intended to make it easier to write robot applications, and a runtime environment that allows them to be used and reused on different types of hardware. The software is free for hobbyists and academic use.

HP to cut more costs, Hurd says

Hewlett-Packard Co. (HP) would further cut costs to achieve operational efficiency, the company's Chief Executive Officer Mark Hurd told members of the financial community.

IBM flashes ‘Flash killer’

IBM has built a prototype storage device with two partners that it claims is 500 times faster than Flash. It uses less than half the power of Flash memory and can be built in ultra-thin form factors most likely unavailable to Flash. In short, it's being dubbed a Flash-killer.
