Project Managers In Demand

The discipline of project management is on the rise in Canada, according to a recently released survey by Mississauga, Ont.-based Solutions Network Inc. Nearly 75 per cent of the companies contacted reported that the number of people working in the area of project management in their organizations has grown significantly over the past two years, while 62 per cent indicated an increase in the number of senior-level project management positions.

The study found that there are 30 per cent more people working in project management today than there were two years ago. 26 per cent of participants said the number of project management positions within their companies has more than doubled, and 54 per cent reported that they have grown by more than 50 per cent since 1999.
