There’s something fishy on-line

If you want to swim with the fish, you no longer have to slip into your favourite pair of concrete shoes. In fact you don’t even have to get wet. Thanks to Ducks Unlimited Canada’s Web site, surfers can now follow their favourite carp or walleye on-line. Ducks Unlimited’s Walleye Tracker relies on radio transmitters implanted in 22 walleye and six carp as part of a study on water quality, fish and vegetation in Lake Manitoba’s Delta Marsh. The transmitters emit signals that allow biologists to track the fish as they move through the marsh and enter the lake. Visitors can use the fish-finder feature of the Walleye Tracker area to see where their selected fish have travelled.
