Multi-function Canon devices designed to boost productivity

Mississauga, Ont.-based Canon Canada Inc. launched on Monday what it’s calling a facsimile-based multifunction device for high-volume offices and workgroups.

The Laser Class 830i and 810 are designed to expand the role of the traditional office facsimile by acting as a fax, scanner and network printer and letting users send facsimiles from their desktop.

Drivers behind the functionality include helping increase productivity when handling both hardcopy and electronic documents, and ultimately facilitating business workflows.

The device offers speeds of up to 45 images-per-minute (ipm) for scanning, 23 pages-per-minute (ppm) for letter-sized printing and copying.
