Motorola releases software for network management

A new set of software products by Motorola Inc. is designed to help IT managers and network operators design, deploy and manage outdoor wireless networks.

The Motorola One Point Wireless Suite features MeshPlanner, PTP LINKPlanner and Wireless Manager for better visibility and control of Motorola’s wireless broadband products.

The suite includes planning software to help take the guess work out of designing networks for optimal coverage, capacity and performance, the company said. And, template-based configuration automates and speeds device configuration. The management software also lets network operators see nodes on the network and therefore enables efficient and comprehensive system management.

Phil Bolt, vice-president and general manager with Motorola wireless broadband solutions, said “through a single suite of robust software applications, operators can control every detail about their network or series of networks – from inception to deployment to full operational mode.”
