Japanese tech giants hit hard by economic woes

The poor global economic situation, a slowdown in the IT sector and increased competition from foreign rivals led all but one of Japan’s major electronics companies to report lower sales and losses for the previous fiscal year, which ended on March 31, they said in earnings reports released on Thursday and Friday.
