Dalhousie University gets funding for online project

Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) on Monday awarded funding to Halifax-based Dalhousie University for an e-learning project called HealthInfoRx: Lifelong Learning for Chronic Disease Patients and Health Care Providers.

The university will receive $200,000 to develop a prototype for an Internet Web portal – HealthInfoRx – for use by inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients and their health care providers.

The online project will support health education and the exchange of information between patients and health care providers, according to HRDC, adding the program is designed to increase understanding of how adults learn and how new technologies can best support their learning needs.
