Client magnet keeps customers by analyzing Quickbooks

SAN FRANCISCO (01/14/2012) – You’d like to attract more customers, and keep the ones you have, but figuring out the best loyalty program can be confusing and time-consuming. It’s hard to tell the difference between offering your clients $10 off their next purchase, or simply free shipping and using a deal-of-the-day service like Groupon to attract customers doesn’t offer a way to make sure redeemers come back.

That’s where Client Magnet (clientmag.net) wants to come in. Upload your Quickbooks data into the service and Client Magnet will generate a discount-marketing scheme based on how many customers you have, what they spend when they make purchases, how often you make sales, and so forth.

Then it uses your clients’ email to send coupons to them, depending on how they purchase (online or in-store), and how often they purchase. Client Magnet uses a variety of ways to define a customer, from a simple repeated credit card scan to an email address you might ask for on a ticket.

Depending on how much Quickbooks information you have, a marketing scheme designed by Client Magnet will cost anywhere from $20-$100 per month, and is offered on a monthly basis only—no contract.

The service also breaks down customers gained, customers lost, and basic revenue information for you so it’s easier to make informed decisions about improving customer loyalty. By analyzing previous Quickbooks data, Client Magnet can tell if a client is a once-a-year customer and send out an annual coupon, or if they buy three times a week and then stop purchasing from you Client Magnet will consider that person a “Customer lost” and send e-coupons less frequently.

Once you’ve executed a marketing plan, Client Magnet will analyze whether the program was fiscally successful, and incorporate that into the recommendations of your next campaign. And for customers who’d prefer not to be bothered? Any email they get comes with an unsubscribe button, or a thumbs up or thumbs down they can click to give feedback on what types of discounts they’re interested in.

CEO Jeff Shood was on the show floor at CES this week to explain Client Magnet, and said an open beta of ClientMagnet would be available in two weeks, after about two months of successful private beta with 50 companies. Shood said Client Magnet had a partnership with Intuit, who was participating in Start Up America, President Obama’s campaign to rejuvenate American entrepreneurship.
