CIBC breaks new ground with digital signatures

Last April, the province of British Columbia joined Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Nova Scotia and The Yukon in giving digital signatures the same legal status as their pen-and-ink counterparts. The U.S. government has passed similar legislation as well. One of the first ways digital signatures are being used is in banking transactions. However, this requires sound technology to ensure complete security.
