Al Rivera has been appointed Director — Business Development, Oil & Gas Industry, for Calgary-based Talvent North America Ltd. He will assist energy companies with aggregating and interconnecting their IT subsystems across the enterprise, creating a seamless, integrated real-time IT solution enabling them to deal effectively with internal and external challenges such as security, safety, governance, and regulatory issues. Formerly with the Chevron group of companies, Mr. Rivera was also president of ANG Consulting, a company that assists clients with integrated IT infrastructure strategy development and helps to facilitate system integration.

Tom Gernon is now CIO of MDS Inc, a company that provides a range of enabling products and services to the global life sciences markets. Based in Toronto, he will be tasked with rescaling the IT platform to align with the current business strategy and structure, and maximizing business value and cost efficiency of the firm’s IT infrastructure. Mr. Gernon was formerly the Chief Operating Officer of D2Hawkeye Inc, Wellesley, MA.
