NetScout boosts management ties

NetScout Systems Inc.’s recently unveiled nGenius Performance Manager 2.0 and nGenius Probe Firmware 6.0 let network managers accept data from homegrown applications, monitor protocol-specific traffic and consolidate network and application performance data in one interface. The Performance Manager is server-based software that communicates with NetScout’s hardware probes to collect application and traffic data. The software can also poll devices to collect performance metrics. NetScout’s nGenius Performance Manager 2.0 is priced at US$50,000 and the nGenius Probe Firmware 6.0 starts at around US$8,000 per probe. Both products are available now.
