Alcatel, HP offer bundled IT, communication service

Midsized companies are the target of a new bundled IT and communication service program announced Monday by Hewlett-Packard Co. and Alcatel SA.

The two companies have joined forces to extend HP’s Smart Office program, which offers small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) a one-stop service for their entire computing needs, to include telecommunication equipment and services, company executives said at a news conference at the Telecom World 2003 conference and exhibition in Geneva. The event is being organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), an agency of the United Nations (UN).
