A Modest Proposal*

At last year’s Lac Carling Congress, there was consensus that Canadian governments need to build a multi-jurisdictional on-line public service to demonstrate the value of such services and to show that Canadian governments can work together on an on-going basis.

Such a project would serve two purposes: There would be direct value to citizens who use the service, and the collaborative effort would be a powerful indirect message about the need and ability for governments to work together.
