Oracle ends open-source HPC Project

IT WORLD CANADA CURATED: The code base for Oracle's Fortress programming language product will still remain open source, however

Oracle had planned the Fortress language as a more modern version of the legendary Fortran, used extensively in high-performance computing. However, the the company has cited "severe technical challenges," including problems with virtual machines designed to support it.
