Uber to develop AI chatbot to improve user experience

Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has announced that the company is working on its own AI chatbot. The chatbot is still in development, but Khosrowshahi says that it could be used to help users with a variety of tasks, such as booking rides, finding information about their trip, and resolving customer service issues.

Khosrowshahi shed light on Uber’s foray into AI, signaling a strategic move to harness its potential. While specifics remain under wraps, the CEO emphasized that the project is already in progress. Uber’s proactive engagement with AI is evident through its dedicated webpage showcasing the intricacies of Uber AI, underscoring the company’s commitment to this transformative technology.

Khosrowshahi underscored Uber’s longstanding integration of AI and machine learning, especially in the algorithms driving ride-matching. This recent development follows Uber’s Q2 earnings release, where the company achieved its inaugural quarterly operating profit, though revenue fell short of projections.

Uber is not the only company that is developing an AI chatbot. Other companies that have announced plans to develop AI chatbots include Lyft, Airbnb, and Amazon.
