U.S. spectrum holder buys Canadian DragonWave network tools

Ottawa-based wireless network provider DragonWave Inc. announced Monday that Nextlink Wireless Inc. will buy its AirPair and Horizon Compact products.

The purchase will support the portfolio of broadband wireless services offered by Nextlink, a Herndon, Virginia-based wireless spectrum holder and subsidiary of XO Holdings Inc.

Specifically the products will offer backhaul technology to allow wireless service providers to more cost-effectively support new mobile applications, content and data across their networks as an alternative to conventional wireline networks.
