RCMP session aims at the basics

From the Mad Trapper of Rat River to Mafiaboy of Montreal, the RCMP have earned a reputation for always getting their man.

But in the world of IT security, apprehension of a suspect may be problematic – if not impossible – because of geography, jurisdiction and the nature of digital threats themselves.

Denial of service attacks and viruses can be developed anywhere in the world and launched from dozens if not thousands of different sites.

Do-it-yourself “kits” available to anyone on the Internet make it easy to produce unique and effective viruses and release them.
