Put a halt to unauthorized software

Faronics Corp. has announced Anti-Executable 3.0, which lets adminstrators block unauthorized programs from running on computers. New to version 3.0 is the white list feature, which is designed to allow workstations to run only applications which have been authorized to execute.

Anti-Executable 3.0 runs on Windows XP Service Pack 2 and higher, Vista and Server 2003.

The white list support includes import and export options and a white folder, which lets administrators exclude CDs-ROMs, USB sticks or network drives from protection. It is available for a 30-day evaluation.

The enterprise version includes silent install option over the network, scheduled shutdown and wake-on-LAN, centralized deployment. It can also log any attempts to violate policies and group workstations.
