HIMSS Analytics is bringing its Web-based database to Canada in an effort to expand industry knowledge about the country’s healthcare IT market.
Chicago-based Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) teamed up with Ottawa’s Branham Group Inc. – which will act as the exclusive reseller partner – to bring the database to the Canadian market. HIMSS Analytics, a division of HIMSS, collected IT-related information from Canadian hospitals for use in the database.
Branham Group President and CEO Wayne Gudbranson said the product will provide extensive and strategic information about the Canadian healthcare IT market. HIMSS Analytics said its interactive tool is constantly updated by providers, vendors and anyone else interested in the market. The data contained in the system, the company said, will provide a roadmap to decision makers on the opportunities and trends found in Canada’s health IT market.
In addition, HIMSS Analytics is working with Courtyard Group Ltd., a Toronto-based consulting firm for Canadian healthcare organizations, to help with analyzing and researching the data. HIMSS Analytics will also provide Toronto’s Longwoods Publishing with access to healthcare information for use by its editors and authors.
