Jasmine ii, Neugents steal show

Wrapping an entire development and deployment platform around its object-oriented database, Computer Associates International Inc. has launched Jasmine ii.

During the recent CA-World 2000 user conference in New Orleans, the Islandia, N.Y.-based software company officially announced shipment of its “intelligent infrastructure” product that envelops its previous Jasmine database offering.

The company’s aiming this platform – which starts at US$2,000 -directly at the e-business world to enable Internet exchanges, portals and application service provider (ASP) efforts. It includes tools for application development, Web publishing, service-reporting and component-based application modelling, and can be integrated with such enterprise applications as SAP, Peoplesoft or Siebel. Meanwhile, integration kits reportedly provide “seamless operation” between Jasmine ii and such tools as WebGain Visual Caf
