IBM releases new MDM server software

IBM announced yesterday the availability of its new MDM product, the IBM InfoSphere Master Data Management Server. The software will centrally manage customer, product, and account data for enterprise-wide usage.

It can be used for entry-level MDM projects, along with higher-level SOA MDM systems; the single-platform set-up allows for incremental growth that isn’t disruptive to day-to-day function and can better enable added-value packages and bundles.

The program also contains built-in data intelligence that can be used to enrich daily transactions in sales, marketing, and finance, and overall data governance features. Event notification is also part of the application.

According to IBM, this is the first in a new product suite that will be expanded over the coming year, including the new version of IBM WebSphere Product Centre.
