Hosted IP telephony has grown up

In this piece from CIO,com, two officials from a management consulting firm argue that organizations can now consider IP telephony services as a stand-alone service rugged enough for large deployments.

Benefits may include eliminating the capital requirements for the migration in exchange for predictable operating expenses, lower total cost of ownership via a multi-tenant model that enables IT infrastructure costs to be “shared,” as well as a path to quickly eliminating ever-increasing legacy TDM system maintenance costs.

If your organziation has a older communications system, read this and, if you’re persuaded, contact a provider and do a cost-benefit analysis.
