Corporate search software unveiled

Desktop search company Copernic Inc. has announced version 3.0 of its software, which includes intranet integration.

Copernic Desktop Search Corporate Edition 3.0 includes a customization kit that lets companies add intranet and extranet seach shorcuts to the software interface. Montreal-based Copernic says the software is compatible with search engines like Autonomy and Verity.

The company also announced volume discounts, so the licenses now cost anywhere from US$24.95 to $59.95 each, depending on the number purchased.

Desktop Search is designed to find a variety of files, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, HTML, ZIP, WordPerfect, MP3, JPEG, MPEG and WAV. It can also locate e-mails from Outlook, Eudora and Mozilla Thunderbolt.

Copernic also makes the Agent and Tracker Web monitoring tools, plus Summarizer, which is designed to make document summaries of files and Web pages.
