Canadian firm updates its Exchange server filter solution

Vircom Inc. has updated its modusGate email security and anti-spam filter software for Microsoft Exchange servers.

Available as a cloud service or on-premise software, Version 5.51 now has native support for mobile browsers. It also now supports Windows Server 2012/R2, Exchange 2013 and SQL Server 2012. It has also improved Web Monitor with an auto play feature that cycles through all modusGate services and critical resources.

The Montreal company also offers a new promise – if the application isn’t up and running in 15 minutes the company will do it for you and give three months free service.

It also said its direct Quarantine 3.0 product, a Microsoft Outlook add-on that controls quarantined email, now supports Outlook 2013 and Windows 8,virus engines, malware and phishing protection and detailed reporting.

Vircom says its heuristic filters block 99.7 per cent of spam from corporate mailboxes. Self-learning logic gives 0.04 per cent false positives, the company also says. The company says spam definitions are updated every five minutes.
