Call centre outsourcer Minacs gets a new name

A year-and-a-half after its acquisition by TransWorks Information Services Ltd.,Toronto outsourcing company Minacs has changed its name. The firm, which has more than 11,000 employees, is now known as Aditya Birla Minacs.

TransWorks is a subsidiary of Aditya Birla Management Corp. Ltd. of Mumbai. Minacs, which was founded in Toronto by Canadian Elaine Minacs in 1981, was acquired by TransWorks in June, 2006.

Aditya Birla Minacs provides business process outsourcing, including contact centres, integrated marketing and knowledge processes.

Its contact centre services include outbound calls to holders of car leases, managing support for electronic commerce sites and calling wireless subscribers to try to sell them additional services.

Aditya Birla Minacs has overseas offices in Mumbai, India, Quezon City, Philippines and Russelheim, Germany.
