Brocade, MS team up on virtualization

Brocade Communications Systems Inc. has announced the management pack for its Performance and Resource Optimization technology will be used in Microsoft Corp.’s Systems Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008.

San Jose, Calif.-based Brocade says this will help server administrators better manage their data centres by including the Brocade data center fabric and host bus adapter management into Virtual Machine Manager.

Administrators will be able to get information on their networks and specific devices, such as overall health, performance and configuration data. Brocade claims this will give administrators visibility into the storage network to help them decide where to place, move or reconfigure applications, hardware or virtual machines.
