AT&T, Siebel Systems launch wireless alliance

AT&T Corp. through its division AT&T Wireless Group Inc., and software vendor Siebel Systems Inc., has launched a strategic partnership, the companies announced Monday.

Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will jointly market and provide wireless access to Siebel eBusiness products and services over AT&T’s GSM (Global System for Mobile telecommunication) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) network, AT&T and Siebel said in a joint statement. No financial details of the agreement were released.

The companies will together target potential wireless markets including sales automation and financial services, AT&T and Siebel said. The joint venture will also include the testing of new wireless products and technologies, the companies said.
