Alberta SuperNet forges ahead with new technologies

Its goal is to use the power of the Web to enhance the lives of Albertans.

Alberta SuperNet has moved closer towards that vision with the recent launch of hosting, and video-conferencing solutions over its network.

Alberta SuperNet is a provincial government infrastructure initiative aimed at providing high-speed, broadband access to public facilities, as well as businesses and residences in the province.

It includes 4,700 connections to 422 Alberta communities.

SuperNet end users include provincial and local governments, learning and health institutions, libraries, and Aboriginal communities. The recently launched solutions are provided by telecom firm Telus and include Voice over IP (VoIP) and data equipment to connect to SuperNet.
