About Microsoft SharePoint

SharePoint is Microsoft’s primary groupware product. A web development platform, SharePoint can be used to build and manage intranets, extranets and web sites. The platform provides a range of tools and capabilities – document management, file management, social networking, search and custom integration – to support collaborative work groups and company-wide information sharing. Available third-party custom add-ins called Web Parts (Widgets) can provide additional functionality.
