How to create a readable—and searchable—resume

An IT recruiter offers a template for a resume that can find its way to the top of the pile

When today's job-seekers write a resume, it needs to appeal to two very different audiences: people and computers.
 
 
Of course, nothing is more important than a well-written, targeted resume that catches a recruiter's eye. But with millions of people applying for jobs online, they must also have the key ingredient that attracts the attention of search engines.
 
Many people struggle with the problem of how many and what types of keywords to add to their resume. Too few, and it might get lost in a sea of data, but too many will irritate the person who may decide whether you get a job.
