DFAIT provided platform for IT firms at Olympics

Canadian IT companies showed off their wares Aug. 6 at the Canada Olympic House in London as part of an initiative by the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, according to the Ottawa Business Journal. Firms from tech hubs like Ottawa, Vancouver and Waterloo, Ont. Ottawa in particular was well represented, accounting for five out of the 13 tech companies.

I remember when Ottawa was referred to as “Silicon Valley North.” Now, I’m starting to see that honour bestowed on Waterloo. Either way, good for DFAIT for giving the “North” a place on the international stage.
