Taking a 3D scan of your face with Bellus 3D Face Camera Pro at CES 2018

We may not have achieved Mission Impossible III levels of 3D face scanning yet, but at CES 2018, Bellus revealed its 3D Face Camera Pro that gets us the closest yet.

This time on All Hands on Tech we take a first look at a device that takes selfies to a whole new level. Bellus 3D’s Face Camera Pro is a camera that can create a 3D scan of your face. It only takes a few seconds of posing in front of this device. Suddenly you have a 3D image of yourself in sub-millimeter precision. I have to admit, I found it both really creepy and awesome at the same time. But the real world applications are real.

Production of the device is starting this month. It’s taking pre-orders for $499 USD. The company hopes to work with smartphone makers to eventually integrate this technology into the device.
