Government: Offshoring caused 2 percent of layoffs Q1

Despite the growing concern over the number of IT jobs being shunted overseas, a new report by the U.S. Bureau of Labour Statistics says that just two per cent of layoffs in the first quarter were the result of offshoring.

Chinese gov’t announces WLAN equipment security policy

The Chinese government has settled on a policy that wireless LAN (WLAN) equipment made in China and sold for use there must implement a Chinese standard called Wired Authentication and Privacy Infrastructure (WAPI).
