China to adopt law on electronic signatures

In a move that brings China one step closer to implementing a set of laws to regulate online transactions and commerce, a draft law concerning online electronic signatures was approved at an executive meeting of China's State Council on March 24.

IT spending in China will post an annual composite growth rate of 18.5 per cent from 2005 to 2009, according market analyst CCW Research.

Multinationals reshuffle their Chinese operations

On Feb. 18, NEC Corp. announced plans to reorganize its Chinese operations into two companies focused on sales and service for IT and communications products. Set for completion in July, the reorganization of NEC's Chinese subsidiaries is the most significant reshuffling undertaken by NEC during its 30 years of doing business in China.
