Here’s a list of the spectrum won by some of the new entrants at the end of the AWS spectrum. Not included here is Quebecor, because its spectrum is all in Quebec except two pieces: 20Mhz covering Eastern Ontario, including the busy Hwy. 401 near the Ontario-Quebec border, and 10Mhz for Toronto.


–20 Mhz Province-wide licences: Southern Ontario; Yukon/NWT/Nunavut.

–10Mhz Province-wide: British Columbia, Alberta, Northern Ontario, Northern Quebec, New Brunswick, Cape Breton Island, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland/Labrador, Yukon, North West Territories/ Nunvut (two licences, different frequencies)

–10Mhz City-wide: Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw, Winnipeg, Brandon, Man., Ottawa; Brockville, Ont., Cornwall, Ont., Kingston, Ont., Cobourg, Ont., Pembroke, Ont., Belleville, Ont.

Shaw (While based in the West, it also has cable holdings in northern Ontario, reflected in some of its spectrum) –20Mhz Province-wide: British Columbia, Alberta.

–10Mhz Province-wide: Manitoba, Newfoundland/Labrador

–10Mhz Regional and city-wide: Okanagan region, B.C., Kootenays, B.C., Courenay, B.C., Prince George, B.C., Nanaimo, B.C., Thompson region B.C., Prince George, B.C., Lethbridge, Alta., Medicine Hat, Alta., Saskatoon, Moose Jaw, Winnipeg, Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., Thunder Bay, Ont., London/Woodstock,Ont., Gaspe, Que.,

Bragg (while based in the Maritimes, it also has small cable holdings in central Ontario, reflected in some of its spectrum) –20 Mhz province-wide: Northern Ontario, Nova Scotia/PEI, New Brunswick
