Anyone with more than a decade’s worth of experience in this industry has learnt the truth of the saying “Everything old is new again”, particularly when it comes to the debate over centralization versus decentralization. At first we had the single, neat and tidy, central stalwart mainframe; then came the age of minis, and for a while corporate computing became departmental computing.
