Primus extends wholesale contract with MTS Allstream

Telecom reseller Primus Telecommunications Inc. has extended its contract with MTS Allstream Inc., which provides wholesale local, long-distance and data services to Primus.

The contract will be extended by three year. Primus Canada, which offers voice, data, e-commerce, Web hosting and VoIP service, is owned by McLean, Va.-based Primus Telecommunications Group Inc.

MTS Allstream’s enterprise solutions division, based in Toronto, provides voice and data services. It operated as AT&T Canada until 2003, and was purchased the following year by MTS.AT&T Canada was formed nearly a decade ago when AT&T Long Distance merged with MetroNet, an early competitive local exchange carrier and ISP Netcom Canada.
