BEA unveils product lineup

BEA Systems Inc. has announced a security policy management software package, and other applications for heterogeneous IT environments, including an enterprise service bus for service-oriented architecture and data aggregation software.

At its BEAWorld event this week in Shanghai, the San Jose, Calif.-based enterprise software developer announced it will ship AquaLogic Enterprise Security 3.0, which manages administrator privileges and security policies, this Friday. Version 3.0 includes one entitlement user interface, designed to give IT Managers one view of entitlements for all application protected by BEA AquaLogic Enterprise Secruity.

The vendor also announced products scheduled for release next year, including AquaLogic Service Bus 3.0, service oriented architecture “backbone” designed to connect and manage interactions between different services and legacy applications. Version 3.0 is said to provide policy-based load balancing, throttling and service pooling to help IT managers meet quality of service standards. Another BEA AquaLogic product scheduled to ship next year is Data Services Platform 3.0, designed to convert data from different sources into bi-directional (read and write) information services.
