Despite fraud allegations, HP is not giving up on the company, she told investors in a conference call

Hewlett-Packard CEO Meg Whitman reassured investors troubled by an acconting scandal at Autonomy that it would continue to support the company's products.

Autonomy, a company HP acquired a year ago, specializes in data management, archiving and analysis. It recently became the subject of controversy when HP claimed that the enterprise software firm had inflated its true worth. During a conference call with investors, however, Whitman said the alleged fraud was "the result of a willful effort on the part of a small number of Autonomy employees," according to this ComputerWorld article.

She also tried to ease concerns about HP's own finances, which took a major hit last quarter, citing the new management team and a reduction in the company's debt.
