IT WORLD CANADA CURATED: New software will create better connections between data centres, virtual machines and attached storage, the company says

HP is on a quest to bring data centres closer together, while building walls between virtual machines and virtual storage. HP is incorporating new software into its 12500 switches, including EVI (Ethernet Virtual Connect), which can link up to eight data centres, and MDC (Multitenant Device Context), which can divide up resources between multiple tenants on a single switch.

Finally, HP will release StoreVirtual VSA, software that will make virtual storage behave more like physical storage on a network.
