CATA expands awards program to recognize CIOs

Industry group the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance on Wednesday said it would be adding another award to its recognition program that focused on the achievements of a Canadian chief information officer.

CATA holds its Innovation Awards gala dinner every year in Ottawa. Its other categories include outstanding product achievement, emerging technology and strategic use of IT in human resources.

The CIO Leadership Award will be sponsored by consulting firm Deloitte & Touche and will be aimed at professionals who have demonstrated excellence in managing enterprise-wide IT, “yielding the greatest returns for their employees,” according to a CATA release.

Winners will be chosen for small and medium enterprise and large corporations, which CATA defines as having more than 150 employees. Finalists will be chosen by a selection committee that includes CATA and Deloitte & Touche.
