Trending on LinkedIn – Another giant has entered the streaming scene. AT&T has announced it plans to offer three versions of a video-streaming service for original movies and TV shows from Warner Bros. Turner and HBO. The Wall Street Journal reports that the move was made to not only compete with rivals such as Netflix and other online systems planned by Disney, but also pay down debt after the acquisition of WarnerMedia.

LinkedIn is also buzzing about Instagram’s latest update that will allow people who post pictures on the website to enter a description and, with the help of AI that scans those descriptions, have them read aloud to visually impaired users. The feature can be used on Instagram’s Feed, Explore, and Profile pages. Instagram joins Twitter and Facebook when it comes to accessibility options, such as text image descriptors.

And lastly, trending on Reddit. Remember blockchain? That thing everyone was touting will change the world. Well, a new study says out of 43 solutions using this new technology have found absolutely zero evidence of success. The report from the Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning organization (MERL) says it found “a proliferation of press releases, white papers and persuasively written articles” but no documentation of evidence of the results, or lessons learned. The report encouraged businesses dabbling with blockchain to accurately report findings and provide actual evidence supporting value claims around the technology.

That’s all the tech news that’s trending right now. Hashtag Trending is a part of the ITWC Podcast network.
